Activision revealed the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare with a trailer giving a sense of the game. The release date is set for October 25 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and reveals some significant features, along with a more realistic style of single-player campaign.
Not to be compared as Modern Warfare 4, which would have been the next numbered entry in the series. The game is simply Modern Warfare, and it serves as a reboot of the 2007’s Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.
The new game is not set in the same universe as the existing trilogy but it does feature some familiar faces. Captain Price is back, voiced by a new voice actor (Barry Sloane)
According to infinity ward, Modern Warfare will include a multiplayer mode, but much details on that portion of the game hasn’t been revealed. Unlike BO4, this new Modern Warfare will indeed have a single-player campaign, and it’s the main focus for the reveal today. There have been reports that it will concern Russian interactions with the Middle East.
The original game was launched for PS3, Xbox 360, and PC back in 2007. It was later remastered in 2016,but this reboot is not connected to the game. Excitingly, the game will feature cross-play across PS4, Xbox One, and PC, allowing players on all platforms to jump into matches together.
Like other recent CoD entries, DLC will release first on PS4. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare launches for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on October 25.
